THE IIT ENIGMA - Hype vs Reality ?
DISCLAIMER - While this article delves into the debate of whether IITs are overrated or underrated, it's crucial to acknowledge their well-deserved reputation and the immense contributions of their students and alumni. This is intended as a constructive analysis, not a criticism. Many of us are familiar with the sentence "IIT jao, life is set"!. And now, while there might be some amount of truth to it, the above statement is a far cry from veracity. Let me give some context to the prestigious institute. Taking into account the statistics from the last few years, approximately over a million students appear for the JEE Main exam annually, which serves as the primary screening for JEE Advanced (the entrance exam for IITs).
